      This Technical Note will be published on the Council’s website following circulation to Members. Its contents may be disclosed or shared outwith the Council.

    • This Technical Note has been written to update Elected Members in regard to the play area located at Mugdock Country Park.

    • Officers have completed the tender process for the upgrade of the play park.   A contractor is due to start the upgrade on 9 February 2026

    • In preparation, the park will be temporarily closed from 19 January 2026 to enable staff prepare the site for contractors. Work has started on the removal of the wooden fencing within the play park due to its poor condition

    • It is expected the new play park will be completed by April 2026.  The cost of the works is £250,000, paid from the Scottish Government’s Play Renovation Fund (£130,000) with the remainder paid from Mugdock Country Park’s capital budget

    • Park staff will ensure the area has appropriate signage in place advising of the play upgrade and temporary closure of the site. To reduce risk, equipment will be cordoned off and swing seats removed.
