  • The purpose of this Technical Note is to confirm the reopening of Torrance Community Centre on Monday 4 May 2026 following completion of an internal and external refurbishment project.
  • Externally, the works undertaken included the renewal of the slate roof covering, replacement of all leadwork and rainwater goods, stonework repairs including repointing, supply and fit of new windows and doors and the formation of new ramped access. The stonework boundary wall to the north and east of the site was also taken down and replaced with a new timber boundary fence
  • Internally, the works undertaken included asbestos removal works, the full upgrading and replacement of M&E services including electrical rewire, small power and lighting, renewal of heating and hot water services and the installation of new intruder and fire alarm systems. The WC facilities within the building were also upgraded including the formation of a fully compliant Accessible WC. Existing Kitchen / Tea Prep fittings were renewed along with the building also receiving new floor coverings and redecoration throughout
  • The Council’s Letting team has been kept updated throughout the process with all lets relocated during this time to other locations within East Dunbartonshire. At present, all lets have bookings at these alternative locations up to June 2026, however, upon confirmation of the reopening date, these will return to Torrance Community Centre.
