On Tuesday 28 April, the Council will mark International Workers’ Memorial Day.
Each year we recognise this event, remembering those who have lost their lives at work, or from work related injury or illness.
The Council will also hold its annual commemorative event at the Cadder Pit memorial Cairn at Bishopbriggs Library and Community Hub. Council Leader Gordan Low will represent the Council and he, Trades Union colleagues, and our Community Planning Partners will lay wreaths at the Cairn at 11am.
All councillors are invited to attend to the event, and any councillors or political parties that wish to lay a wreath should confirm this to members.services@eastdunbarton.gov.uk so that an order for wreath laying can be coordinated.
As part of the Council’s commemorations, the flags at our Southbank Marina HQ will fly at half-mast on the day.
International Workers’ Day is commemorated globally, with events and activities taking place across the world.
