    This Technical Note will be published on the Council’s website following circulation to Members. Its contents may be disclosed or shared out with the Council.

  • The purpose of this Technical Note is to provide Elected Members with an update on the closure and removal of the remaining recycling bring sites following approval at Council Committee on Thursday 5 March 2026.

  • The bins at the recycling sites are currently provided and serviced by Biffa Waste. The contract will terminate with Biffa on Sunday 5 April 2026. Biffa have confirmed that they will remove all recycling bins week commencing Monday 6 April 2026
  • There has been work scheduled to remove site fencing and signage at the earliest opportunity to avoid any build-up of fly-tipping. All sites will be monitored during the transition period
  • Upon completion of the removal works the intention is the reinstate the parking bays at the Council locations
  • The Communications team have prepared information to notify residents of the site closures. This information will be released later this week to local and national media organisations
  • The website will be updated and a post, alongside a video providing details of household kerbside recycling provision, will go out on social media channels
