Details

  • The purpose of this Technical Note is to confirm the temporary partial road closure that will be in place on Stirling Drive, Bishopbriggs and the associated arrangements in relation to the new build of Balmuildy Primary School and Early Years Centre during the forthcoming works to complete the new Scottish Water connection.
  • The Main Contractor will install a new below ground drainage connection to provide the upgraded water connection and supply to new build, Balmuildy Primary School. The upgrade works will consist of excavating a utility track directly outside the school, from the site boundary across Stirling Drive.
  • The road, on Stirling Drive, Bishopbriggs, from Devon Gardens to Southesk Avenue will be closed in both directions from 6am Monday 6 April until 8pm 19 April 2026.  This will provide safe, clear, continuous, unrestricted access for the Main Contractor for the duration of the works. The traffic will be managed in accordance with the agreed traffic management plans submitted by Scottish Water.
  • Advance notice of the partial road closure on Stirling Drive will be communicated via a local newsletter drop (attached as an appendix to this Technical Note), Balmuildy Primary School’s website/forum, on-site signage, the Council webpage and the Council’s social media channels.
  • On-going updates on project progress will be provided through the duration of the project via the General Services Capital Programme Monitoring Reports which are submitted regularly to the Policy & Resources Committee and published on the Council’s website.
