The purpose of this Technical Note is to update Elected Members on the validation of the planning application submission for the proposals at Whitegates Park for the new Lenzie Academy.

Further to Technical Note 009-26 issued on 2 February 2026, the application for the development of a new secondary school at Whitegates Park was submitted at the end of February and has now been validated.

The reference number for the application is TP/ED/26/0104 and can be viewed in full on the Council’s planning portal:

As confirmed previously, a separate planning application will be submitted for proposals at Myrtle Avenue comprising the redevelopment of the school site as a public open space with refurbished indoor sports accommodation.  

The first pre-application consultation event took place on Thursday 26 February.  The second event will take place on Wednesday 25 March 2026 between 4 and 7pm at Lenzie Academy.  


Following the pre-application consultation period, the planning application for Myrtle Avenue will then be submitted before end April 2026.
