  • This Technical Note is to provide Elected Members with the outcome of the most recent unannounced inspection of the East Dunbartonshire Care at Home Service, published by the Care Inspectorate in January 2026
  • The service provides support to people with a range of needs including physical and mental health conditions, dementia and palliative care, and at  the time of inspection was providing a service to 403 people
  • The inspection took place in November 2025 and evaluated the quality of our Care at Home Service using a six-point scale where 1 is unsatisfactory and 6 is excellent
  • The inspection focussed upon the following four areas with the grades awarded indicated below (bold); 
    • How well do we support people's wellbeing? 5 - Very Good
    • How good is our leadership? 5 - Very Good
    • How good is our staff team? 4 - Good
    • How well is our care and support planned? 4 – Good.
  • The grades awarded represent an improvement on the previous inspection evaluation outcomes
  • Particular strengths identified in the report included; the values demonstrated by the service, individuals and their families reflected positively on the care received, with high satisfaction reported, and management/leadership responses were reported positively
  • From the previous inspection all prior Requirements and areas for improvement were met in full within timescales
  • There were no Requirements following this inspection, and only one area for improvement identified which related to notifications to the Care Inspectorate.
