    This Technical Note will be published on the Council’s website following circulation to Members. Its contents may be disclosed or shared out with the Council.

  • The purpose of this Technical Note is to update Elected Members on the Council’s forthcoming homes insulation programme
  • The Council have been successful in securing £1,244,449 in grant funding to deliver external wall insulation through the Scottish Government’s Energy Efficiency Scotland: Area Based Scheme for 2026-2027
  • In addition to reducing heat loss and therefore improving the heat efficiency of homes in the short-term, the programme supports the Council’s wider aims of decarbonising it’s housing stock and contributes to the goals of the Climate Action Plan
  • Ferguson Avenue in Milngavie has been selected as the initial focus for works based on an assessment of the condition of external wall insulation across the estate
  • Following a tender exercise, the contract for the works has been awarded to MP Group who will in-turn liaise directly with tenants and owners on behalf of the Council
  • A site compound is to be erected at Oakburn Avenue to support the delivery of the programme, the compound will be in place from Monday 7 September 2026 until March 2027. Works will commence week commencing Monday 14 September.
