Details:

The purpose of this Technical Note is to update Members on the forthcoming consultation on the draft Greenspace Strategy. 

 The draft Greenspace Strategy was approved at PNCA Committee on 28 May 2026 for publication and public consultation (Report PNCA/015/26/NU).  It was agreed that public consultation would run for approximately 8 weeks from early August. 

Following discussions with the Corporate Communications team, the confirmed dates for the consultation are 03 August 2026 to 25 September 2026.  All information relating to the consultation will be provided on the Council’s website. 

The consultation will be promoted through the Local Development Plan newsletter, on the Council’s website and through social media posts.  An online survey will be available from the 03 August 2026 to 25 September 2026. 

Those without internet access will be able to contact the Land Planning Policy Team for access to the relevant documents and to provide comments on the draft strategy. 

A total of six drop-in information sessions will be delivered across the Council area.  Information on dates, times and locations is provided below:

As per the details set out in Report PNCA/015/26/NU, targeted consultation with children and young people and equalities groups will also be undertaken. 

Once the consultation has concluded, officers will review feedback and prepare a report of consultation.  Feedback gathered during the consultation will help to inform the final Greenspace Strategy, which will be taken to PNCA Committee for approval in due course.
