    Details

    1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to provide Members with further details of upcoming pre-planning consultation events regarding the Lenzie Academy project at Whitegates Park.

    2. Further to Technical Note ref: 088-25 which advised the project meets the criteria for assessment as a Major Planning Application, the Council is required to consult on the proposals in advance of the planning application being submitted. The proposal of application notice for the project will be submitted by Friday, 23rd

    3. In practice, this will take the form of an initial series of events in June 2025 comprised of consultation sessions with school stakeholders, Community Councils and with the general public.

    4. These will provide background information on the progress of the project to date, including the rationale for the selection of the Whitegates Park site and information in outline regarding the design and site layout proposals which the Council intend to form the planning application submission. Initial proposals on offsite environmental mitigation, including high-level proposals for the existing Lenzie Academy site will also be presented as this forms part of the wider planning application submission for Whitegates Park site. The same presentation materials will form the basis of each session and will be published on-line via the project website on completion of the final session on 12th June 2025.

    • Lenzie Academy Parent Council & Parent Council Representatives from catchment primary school

    Scheduled for the afternoon and evening of Tuesday, 10th June 2025 at Lenzie Academy.

     

    Wednesday 11th June

     

    • Representatives from Lenzie Community Council, Lennoxtown Community Council, Kirkintilloch Community Council and Waterside Community Council.

    Scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, 11th June 2025 at EDC Southbank Marina Headquarters.

    Thursday 12th June

    Open session for the general public.

    Scheduled for 4pm to 8pm on Thursday, 12th June 2025 at Lenzie Academy.

     

    6. The format of the session will be presentation boards and hard copy / online feedback sheets for comments and suggestions to be recorded from attendees.

    7. Feedback will then be considered by the project design team and a further round of sessions, following the same format as above, will be arranged in September/October 2025, with arrangements to be confirmed in August 2025.

    8. Through the planning submission, the application will require to demonstrate what feedback was received during the course of the pre-application consultation process and how the final proposals have responded to this.
