Parking at former travelling people’s site – Primrose Way, Lennoxtown

  • Responsible Officer:

  • Publication:

This Technical Note will be published on the Council’s website following circulation to Members. Its contents may be disclosed or shared outwith the Council.

  • The purpose of this Technical Note is to provide Elected Members with information on the forthcoming use of the former travelling people’s site at Primrose Way, Lennoxtown
  • The site has been derelict for a number of years, with all structures cleared, and road access currently blocked for all vehicles
  • As part of ongoing efforts to generate additional income for the Council, officers have been liaising with a number of companies involved in TV and film production
  • As a result, a production company working on behalf of the BBC has negotiated to temporary lease the former travelling people’s site in Lennoxtown. The site will not be used for filming – it will be used for the parking of vehicles and storage of equipment.
  • As part of the agreement, advance maintenance works are being carried out by the production company – starting on Sunday 11 May and continuing into Monday 12 May 2025
  • Production vehicles will then move into the site on Tuesday 13 May, departing on Wednesday 14 May. The site will be reinstated on Thursday 15 May, with vehicle access blocked again
  • Please note, there will be works taking place – and vehicles accessing the site – during those dates. The production company has agreed to keep any noise and disruption to a minimum (with any lights being pointed into the site whenever they are in use)
  • It has been agreed that the production company will return to use the site again for two days – provisionally in July 2025 – after which vehicle access will be prohibited again.
