Important announcement

Due to operational issues we have had to suspend our food waste collection service for a number of streets in Milngavie and Bishopbriggs today.

If your food waste bin is not collected today, please take in your bin and present on the next collection day, Friday 14 November.

Brown and blue collections in a small number of streets in the Bishopbriggs and Kirkintilloch area are also affected. If your brown and blue bins has not been emptied today, please leave it on the kerbside for collection and it will be collected by the service at the earliest opportunity.

Our teams will be working hard to minimise the impact, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

  • The purpose of this Technical Note is to provide Elected Members with notification of a new online Waste Services collection day schedule tool due for release on the Council website on Friday 2 May 2025
  • The change to a 3 weekly residual waste collection frequency was introduced on Sunday 30 March 2025. To ensure all new collection routes are efficient, many householders now have a new collection day for residual waste
  • The new online tool has been created to support residents with the changes to the kerbside collection service, providing quick and easy access to their own individual household collection schedule. It can be found on the Bins and recycling page
  • There are flatted properties and a small number of properties that are not on the standard kerbside collection routes which may not show the full schedule at this time. These routes are under development and will be available shortly. Residents can contact services@eastdunbarton.gov.uk should they require additional information
  • There will continue to be printed booklets of all new collection day schedules available for viewing at all our Community Hubs. The online collection tool will be launched on Friday 2 May. Social media messaging will be used to highlight the launch of the new tool and to direct residents to it.
