Details
The purpose of this Technical Note is to update Members in relation to various power outages affecting Kirkintilloch over the last 24 hours.
Members may be aware that there was a widespread power outage affecting much of Kirkintilloch/G66 last night. Power was restored to most homes by approximately 10pm.
Officers have been in touch with Scottish Power today and have been advised that there are residual issues affecting parts of Kirkintilloch. In particular, G66 2SD and G66 2NW are known to be impacted. Other postcode areas are or will be affected throughout the course of the day and officers are awaiting more details.
Approximately 231 properties are affected at the moment, with an anticipated restoration of 4pm. However, Scottish Power has advised that it will require access to these properties to remove and replace main fuses, therefore the completion time is almost certain to slip.
Officers are aware that in the region of 50% of the 231 properties are registered with Scottish Power on the Priority Services Register. Scottish Power agents have identified electrically medical dependant customers, i.e. stairlifts, oxygen etc and have provided generators.
Scottish power agents are on site and currently Council officers to attend or provide additional support, however this will continue to be monitored.
