      This Technical Note will be published on the Council’s website following circulation to Members. Its contents may be disclosed or shared outwith the Council.

    The is the latest in a series of Technical Notes updating Members on arrangements for the forthcoming by-election re Ward 3 Bearsden South.

     Members will be aware that the nomination period closed at 4pm today.  The Notice of Poll and Situation of Polling Stations has now been completed and published on the Council’s website, along with the Notice of Election Agents.  A copy of the Notice of Poll and Situation of Polling Stations is attached as an appendix to this Technical Note.

    Candidates and Agents Briefing - Teams

     8th January 2026 (4.30pm)

    Deadline for the ERO to receive applications to register to vote    

    Tuesday 13th January 2026 (midnight)

    Deadline for the ERO to receive new postal vote and postal proxy applications, and for changes to existing postal or proxy votes     

    Wednesday 14th January 2026 (5pm)

    In addition to the above, administrative arrangements in support of the poll are continuing.

    Further Technical Notes will be issued in the new year as these arrangements progress.
