The Technical Note is to inform Elected Members that Hillhead Primary School and Early Years Centre have suffered a loss of water supply this morning.
Scottish Water have confirmed a burst water pipe in the area (Redbrae Road, Kirkintilloch) which has resulted in a loss of all water to both the school and early years centre. Notification at 9.40am on the Scottish Water website confirmed that a fault was located but repair is still to commence. This has also been confirmed verbally with Scottish Water and no time frame for repair has been communicated
Due to lack of water in the school and early years centre, a decision was made by the Chief Education Officer to close the school at 11am today
Parents/carers are currently being contacted to collect their children from the school and early years centre
The school and early years centre will reopen on Wednesday 19th November as normal, unless Scottish Water advise repair will not be completed in time.
