Elected Members will be aware of recent news articles regarding Lenzie Academy Fire Safety Risk Assessment
Council Officers have reviewed the Risk Assessment and can confirm that the actions are already being addressed and an action plan has been shared with the school and teaching unions. Some of these items were the turning off of computers, mobile phone chargers and removing paper near radiators
The Health and Safety Team, together with Assets and Facilities Management and Education will continue to work through the actions identified as 1-3 months and 3-6 months
Central officers across the Council are working at pace with the school to address the recommendations with the school management team, teaching unions and the Parent Council and additional progress meetings are planned next week
The school remains safe for pupils, teachers and staff to occupy
Members will be aware that the health, safety and wellbeing of all of our staff and pupils is our priority.
