The purpose of this Technical Note is to advise Elected Members of an extension to the closing date for offers in relation to Lenzie Public Hall, Lenzie
Officers instigated the marketing of Lenzie Public Hall for lease, sale or through a Community Asset Transfer request with the condition of continued community use in April 2025 with an initial closing date set for offers as at 25 August 2025
Two local Community Groups have undertaken viewings of the Public Hall earlier in the year with a view to working up a business case to include within any offer. There was a request from the Community Groups in August to extend the closing date for offers to allow more time to review the technical information officers provided in relation to the condition of the building, including surveys and reports
Officers agreed to extend the closing date to 21 November 2025, with all interested parties notified of the extension
Officers have been approached again by the two groups requesting a further extension to closing date while further work is undertaken to ensure any offer is compliant and consider in full the suite of technical information which has been issued on request
To assist the local community groups with their submission the closing date for offers will be extended to 30 January 2026 with all offers received reported to Council for consideration on 2 April 2026. This will give officers sufficient time to fully evaluate any offers and request clarification from any bidders in advance of Council.
