  • Publication:

This Technical Note will be published on the Council’s website following circulation to Members. Its contents may be disclosed or shared out with the Council.

  • The purpose of this Technical Note is to provide Elected Members with an update on the A807 Active Travel Corridor project (‘the Project’), specifically works to be completed on correcting identified defects within Section 1a

  • Construction works on Section 1a of the project on Auchenhowie Road were completed in April 2025

  • The works, funded by Tier 1 and Tier 2 of Transport Scotland’s Active Travel Infrastructure Fund, included widening the existing footway by utilising the existing grass verge, replacing the existing kerbing along the front of the footway, and junction improvements at Dowan Road including the installation of street lighting

  • A short period of additional works was completed in August 2025 to allow the Council’s contractor, Luddon Construction Limited, to undertake minor remedial works associated with identified defects and install additional drainage

  • A further two-week period has been programmed within the road works register from Monday 27 October 2025 to again allow Luddon Construction Limited to undertake defect correction work.  This work involves treating small sections of the shared-use footway surface which has shown signs of cracking

  • In the interests of health and safety for road users and construction workers, the works require to be delivered while traffic management is in place on A807 Auchenhowie Road. As the works will be carried out in small sections, Luddon Construction Limited will utilise temporary traffic lights to control the flow of traffic safely passed the respective works area.  The traffic management will be moved in phases as and when the sections of works are completed

  • Advance warning signs will be placed on road to alert road users to the scheduled works period

  • As per previous Technical Note (133-25), work is ongoing to deliver detailed designs for remaining sections of the project

  • Officers will continue to provide any further updates via Technical Notes, when required.
