Details:

1.    The purpose of this Technical Note is to provide Elected Members with a further update on the Canniesburn Toll Improvement Project (‘the Project’).  This follows a recent update in Technical Note No.107-25 of 24 June 2025.

2.    The previous Technical Note advised that defect works alongside some minor works identified through the Road Safety Audit Process were to be undertaken on 5th - 8th July 2025.

3.    Officers can now report that due to a requirement for final lining work and in order for these works to be carried out in a safe manner, Traffic Management (TM) in the form of temporary lane and road closures will be put in place between 10th – 14th November 2025.

4.    Plans outlining the details of these will be added to the project webpage. Signage will be put in place onsite to provide advanced warning of closures approximately 1 week in advance.

5.    The closures on the 10th-12th November 2025 include lane closures on the roundabout and Drymen Road.

6.    A full closure of MacFarlane Road between Canniesburn Toll and Milngavie Road will be in place on the 13th and 14th November 2025. A signed diversionary route will be put in place. Affected residents will be letter dropped to provide advanced notice of this restriction.

7.    The bus stops on Switchback Northbound (Canniesburn Drive) and Drymen Road (Canniesburn Toll) will be suspended and temporarily relocated on the 10th-12th November 2025 to accommodate these works.
