The purpose of this technical note is to advise Elected Members of the Gaelic Harvest Festival, celebrating Scottish Gaelic in East Dunbartonshire on Sunday, 31 August from 1.00 pm till 4.00pm in Mugdock Country Park
The Gaelic Harvest Festival is a fun, family-friendly event celebrating Gaelic culture. Enjoy a day full of music, singing, storytelling, traditional sports, arts and crats, all inspired by Gaelic traditions. There’s something for everyone
The expected outcomes for hosting the Gaelic Harvest Festival:
More people using and seeing Gaelic throughout the event, helping the language feel part of everyday life
Stronger connections between Gaelic speakers and the wider community
Better understanding and appreciation of Gaelic language and culture
Increased interest and involvement in learning and using Gaelic
Greater awareness of the Gaelic language plan and more support for it in the future
