Depute Provost Colette McDiarmid recently attended the Clyde Scouts ‘Celebration of Achievements’ event at the Crown Plaza hotel in Glasgow.

The event brought together scout groups from across East Dunbartonshire, the City of Glasgow, East Renfrewshire and North and South Lanarkshire in recognition of their accomplishments.

Depute Provost McDiarmid was delighted to have been invited to see local scouts from East Dunbartonshire rewarded for their achievements, she said, “It was an honour to have been there to support scouting in East Dunbartonshire and celebrate the achievements of everyone involved with Clyde Scouts.

“It was wonderful to hear of so many young people taking on new challenges to benefit others, whether that be through fundraising ventures, helping local people or protecting the environment. Every single one of them deserved to be commended for the positive contributions they make to their local communities.

“It was also important to recognise all the volunteers at Clyde Scouts who dedicate so much of their time supporting and inspiring our young people. Their commitment and energy are both admirable and gratefully appreciated. Congratulations to everyone at Clyde Scouts!”

Anyone interested in joining Clyde Scouts can find out more about the scout groups in East Dunbartonshire on their website.
