Provost Gillian Renwick had a great time at Kirkintilloch Fire Station Open Day, meeting with members of the local community and learning about the work carried out by some of the charities associated with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

She enjoyed hearing about #ANDYSMANCLUB, a charity which provides free and confidential peer-to-peer support for men struggling with mental health issues and talking with Stanley and Dave
about the work of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Heritage Trust.

The Provost also had a good chat with Roger Lewis from the Rapid Response Team (RRT) charity, finding out about RRT’s work supporting emergency services at disaster sites, providing food and drinks for workers and those affected by the catastrophe. The charity is currently funding 1000’s of meals in Ukraine.

Provost Renwick said, “Kirkintilloch Fire Station put on yet another fantastic open day; it was great to see so many families there supporting their local Fire and Rescue Service. One of the highlights of the day, for me, was meeting the gorgeous Bailey & Marley;  two adorable Fire and Rescue Service dogs.”
