Technical Notes 2024, Issue 38 - Joint Inspection of Adult Support and Protection Services in East Dunbartonshire – Publication of Inspection Report

  1. On the 16th October 2023 the Care Inspectorate, His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary in Scotland and Healthcare Improvement Scotland wrote to the Chief Executive of East Dunbartonshire Council to advise that they would undertake a joint inspection of Adult Support and Protection arrangements in East Dunbartonshire.
     
  2. The focus of the joint inspection was to provide:
    • Independent scrutiny and assurance of how partnerships ensure that adults at risk of harm are kept safe, protected, and supported.

Technical Notes 2024, Issue 39 - Westerton Park & Primary School – Ground Reinstatement

  1. The purpose of this technical note is to update Members on plans to remove the ground gas monitoring points at Westerton Park and Primary School.
     
  2. Ground gas monitoring was undertaken until late 2023 to help inform underlying ground conditions at both the Park and Primary School in support of the feasibility exercise undertaken for the replacement of Westerton Primary School.
     

Technical Notes 2024, Issue 36 - Local Government Benchmarking Framework 2022/23 Annual Benchmarking Report Publication

  1. Background
     
    1. The Local Government Benchmarking Framework (LGBF) provides evidence of trends in how councils allocate resources, the performance of key council services and levels of public satisfaction with the major services provided and commissioned by councils. The rich data supports evidence-based comparisons between similar councils and over time, provides an essential tool for policy makers and the public.

    Technical Notes 2024, Issue 34 - General Fund Revenue & Capital Monitoring

    1. The purpose of this note is to advise Members of the intention to report on the Council’s General Fund update, for both Capital & Revenue at Period 8, to Council on the 26 March 2024.
       
    2. Members will be aware that both the prevailing Terms of Reference and Financial Regulations refer to this business ordinarily being discharged through the Council’s Policy & Resources Committee.  However, the Council can discharge any business otherwise taken to any Council Committee and Members are asked to note this intention.
       

    Technical Notes 2024, Issue 33 - A803 Corridor Improvements Project and City Deal delivery

    1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to update Elected Members on work associated with the A803 Corridor Improvements project element, that is underway as part of the Council’s City Deal Programme.  The A803 Corridor Improvements is one of the three project elements which form the Council’s approved City Deal project Strategic Business Case.
       

    Technical Notes 2024, Issue 32 - Proposed closure of Peel View Medical Centre Branch Surgery, 11 Alexandra Avenue, Lenzie

    Statutory consultees, including relevant Elected Members, MSPs and MPs, were written to by Dr. Jude Marshall, Clinical Director, East Dunbartonshire HSCP on Monday 4th March 2024.  The letter is in regards to a request received from Peel View Medical Centre to close their branch surgery in Lenzie.  The branch surgery has not been utilised for patient contact since 2020 and due to unsustainable maintenance and repair costs, the Practice have requested to close the branch surgery.
