A803 Corridor Improvements Project - Survey
This consultation is now closed. Thanks to everyone who took the time to find out more and get in touch.
As part of the initial feasibility stage of the A803 Corridor Improvements Project, public consultation was undertaken to help understand the current problems and opportunities, and to help set objectives for design work.
Initial consultation ran for two weeks in November 2022 and included an online survey for people to express their views. The findings of the consultation, along with detailed analysis of technical data, informed the 'RIBA Stage 2' process, which developed objectives and sifted through a number of improvement options, before drawing up a shortlist of three corridor options.
Consultation on the shortlisted options took place during March-April 2024. Consultation included a stakeholder workshop, in-person public consultation event and an online public consultation.
The aim was to gauge public opinion on the three initial route options, to assist in the development of a final route option to go forward for detailed design.
The RIBA Stage 2 report (available from the Documents section) includes the outputs from the consultation process, the options appraisal process and the preferred route corridor option.
The project has subsequently been deferred from the Council’s City Deal programme and will no longer form part of the works.
Any future improvements will make use of the work done to date, but will be subject to further design work and consultation, and will require alternative funding to progress.

Background to Consultation
Residents, businesses and groups are being given the chance to help improve a busy route through Bishopbriggs and North Glasgow via an online survey (NOW CLOSED) and drop-in event.
The A803 Corridor Improvements Project is an element of the Council's £34.88 million Place and Growth Programme - supported by the UK and Scottish Governments through the Glasgow City Region City Deal.
The aims of the project - which also involves Glasgow City Council and Strathclyde Partnership for Transport - are to:
- Increase the number of journeys by active and sustainable travel (walking, wheeling, cycling, and bus)
- Improve bus reliability, air quality and local environments
- Reduce dependency on the private car
- Support inclusive growth and access to employment.
Initial consultation is taking place online between 8 and 22 November 2022.
Plase note, there are no specific proposals at this stage - the survey aims to gather views to allow options and potential actions to developed.
A drop-in event took place on 15 November at Bishopbriggs War Memorial Hall. Meetings are also taking place with community groups and local schools.
Survey responses will inform a feasibility study to investigate what improvements could be made. This will be followed by further consultation.
