The Main Issues Report (MIR) is a key step towards the preparation of a new Local Development Plan. It sets out a series of preferred options for future development throughout East Dunbartonshire, across a range of issues. The MIR also includes a number of ‘reasonable alternative options’ for each issue. These preferred options and reasonable alternatives have been identified following an extensive early engagement and evidence gathering exercise and form the basis of the MIR. We now want to hear your views on these options as part of this consultation.
Consultation period: Tuesday 15 October to Tuesday 10 December 2019 (8 weeks)
The MIR is supported by the following documents:
- Report of Early Engagement – Sets out the results of an early engagement exercise which was carried between December 2018 and February 2019. The outcomes of this have helped shape the options and overall content of the MIR.
- Monitoring Statement – Provides a comprehensive review of the current LDP and sets out a wide range of monitoring data that has been used to provide the evidence base for this MIR. It is supported by a range of appendices, as listed in the ‘Documents’ section.
- Environmental Report - This document considers the ‘main issues’ alongside any environmental consequences of the preferred and alternative options that are set out in the Main Issues Report
Anyone is welcome to submit comments on the MIR and/or supporting documents – details of how to respond are set out below. We would encourage you to use our online questionnaire's where possible. Alternatively, you can complete a response form (either by filling in electronically or by printing a hard copy) and submit this by email or post (see address below). We are also happy to receive comments in any other format provided it is clear and legible.
