General Dental Services (GDS)

There are 24 independent contractor practices providing NHS dentistry in East Dunbartonshire. These practices provide GDS and, in addition, three offer sedation services. There are two practices that provide only orthodontic services, meaning no patients are registered with them for GDS.

Emergency Dental Services 

This service provides emergency dental services for people not registered with a dentist during the day from 8.30am – 4.30pm and 7pm – 10pm. During daytime hours, the service can be contacted on 0141 232 6323, or by self-referral to the Emergency Dental Service on Floor 1 of Glasgow Dental Hospital (GDH).

The service also provides dental treatment for registered patients between Monday – Friday 7pm – 10pm, Saturday/Sunday 10am – 1pm, and 1.30pm – 4.30pm (access to this is by referral through NHS 24). The service is also delivered from the Glasgow Dental Hospital and School (GDH).
