Scottish Government Consultation on Health and Social Care Strategy for Older People

The Scottish Government is seeking people’s views in relation to older people’s health and social care services in order to inform the development of a new integrated health and social care strategy for older people.

The consultation is based around the four main themes of:

  • Place and Wellbeing
  • Preventative and Proactive Care
  • Integrated Planned Care
  • Integrated Unscheduled Care

East Dunbartonshire has an ageing population with 22.5% of the total population aged over 65, higher than the national average of 19.1%.Life expectancy is also higher in East Dunbartonshire than the national average and large increases in the population are projected for those aged over 65yrs, and in particular, the number of persons aged 85yrs+.An ageing population and higher life expectancy are expected in combination to increase demand for health & social care services.

East Dunbartonshire HSCP would therefore like to raise your awareness of this consultation and encourage your participation in it.

The consultation can be found  on the Scottish Government Health and Social Care Strategy for Older People page.

Please note that the consultation closes on the 19 June 2022.
