Nutrition and Physical Activity

East Dunbartonshire HSCP aims to improve the health and wellbeing of communities through improved nutrition and increased physical activity. In support of this, the HSCP provides services to increase knowledge and awareness of the benefits of healthy eating and exercise.

ACES (Active Children Eating Smart)

Active Children Eating Smart (ACES) programme helps children and young people (aged five to 15) with support from families or carers to lose or maintain their weight and make long-lasting changes to their lifestyles.

Families who sign up for the programme will attend 8 sessions.  Each session lasts one and a half hours in the evenings or after school in local venues.

The sessions are led by an ACES coach who provides support and motivation as well as healthy eating advice such as how to make sense of food labelling and how sugars are hidden in our food.

ACES incorporates changes into daily family life and setting goals on a weekly basis, using lifestyle diaries to record progression but most importantly it’s about having fun together.

If you would like any further information or are interested in joining ACES please contact the local Lifestyle Coach on: 0141 355 2402
