COVID-19:  Local measures for East Dunbartonshire

You will be aware from last night’s news announcement that the West of Scotland local lockdown restrictions have been extended to the East Dunbartonshire Council area.

The restrictions have been put in place for two weeks from midnight on Monday 7 September and will be reviewed again in one week on Tuesday 15 September.

Full details of the restrictions that now apply are on the Scottish Government Website

We have been issuing social media messaging on the Council's facebook and twitter pages to share the Scottish Government announcements and information on the new measures.

The Council’s Joint Leaders have issued a statement urging everyone in East Dunbartonshire to ensure that they follow the new measures to control the increasing spread and to avoid further more drastic restrictions having to be implemented:

Specific information has been issued to those that were shielding, who are not being asked to go back into shielding but are asked to take particular care. An update has been published to the Shielding page on the Council website, including some FAQs from the Scottish Government:

Please ensure that you are aware of and follow the new restrictions in place for our Council area.
