Locals invited to meet their health and social care services over a cuppa

o	East Dunbartonshire residents, services & organisations are invited to a ‘Meet the Services’ event at Kirkintilloch Town Hall Wednesday 24 April 2024 12 - 7pm. Health and social care providers will be there to answer questions and offer advice. Wellbeing support and light refreshments will also be provided. Come along and find out what support services are available in your community.East Dunbartonshire’s residents are being invited to meet the people behind the many health and social care support services that are available to them, face-to-face over a cuppa. 

A ‘Meet the Services Day’ has been organised by the East Dunbartonshire Health & Social Care Partnership (HSCP) for local people to drop in and chat with services who can help with anything from support and signposting for substance use, mental health advice, domestic abuse, support for people with autism and their families and housing queries to volunteering opportunities, fitness information and tips on consumer safety. 

The all-day event in Kirkintilloch is the first of its kind in the area and will feature information stalls from a huge array of participants including: 

It will be held on Wednesday 24 April 2024 from 12noon – 7pm in Kirkintilloch Town Hall, Union Street, Kirkintilloch, G66 1DH. 

As well as being able to gather information on vital local services and ask questions of the experts who will be on hand all day, visitors can take away a range of resources and may get the chance to meet some therapets as well as enjoying some light refreshments. 

Councillor Calum Smith, Chair of the HSCP Integration Joint Board said, “What has been put together for this event represents the depth and strength of the services that are operating in East Dunbartonshire to support its communities and I’d encourage as many people as possible to come along and find out more about the issues that affect their daily lives and the help that is out there. 

“This event is an opportunity for people to connect, find out more about the vital services that are being delivered day in, day out by professional, enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff on their doorstep. My thanks to the East Dunbartonshire Alcohol and Drug Partnership and the ACEs and Trauma Collaborative who are organising the event and to everyone who is coming along to offer information and advice on the day.”
