A brand-new community space is opening in Lennoxtown which will be run by community-led organisation, The Hive.    make it happen at the hive

The Hive aims to offer local people a range of services over two floors of a unit at Lennoxtown Enterprise Centre and work is on-going to get it ready. It will open its doors for the first-time this week with an open day for local people to come to see the space and have their say about what they’d like it to be used for.

There are several flexible spaces within The Hive which can be used to deliver a range of services such as a warm space for connecting with others, a food pantry, cooking and wellbeing workshops and exercise classes. The Hive can also be used for local group meetings or activities, children’s parties or events, seasonal celebrations and so much more.

Councillor Paul Ferretti, Convener of the Council’s Place, Neighbourhood and Corporate Assets Committee, is encouraging local people to be part of it. He said, “The Hive is a local facility being run by local volunteers for the community and we want as many voices involved at the beginning as possible.

“Please pop in, have a wander around, speak to the volunteers, find out more about the potential of this great new space and share your ideas on how you’d like to see it used. This open day is an opportunity for people to help shape something really positive for the village and of course, offer their time, help and support to get it up and running.”
