YOUR Budget Priorities 2024/25

Thank you to everyone who took the time to fill in the Budget survey for 2024/25.

With your help we have now published our report for your budget priorities. You can read the full report here.

The findings will help to inform Council Budget Decisions to be taken in February.

Introduction

The Council sets its annual Budget in February each year. In recent years this has been incredibly difficult because while the cost of delivering Council services has increased and demand for services has also increased, funding levels have not increased to meet these pressures.

The cost of delivering Council services here in East Dunbartonshire is approximately £322 million. Our current predictions suggest our funding gap for 2024/25 is about £20 million. This means we need to find ways to make savings or to increase our income to balance the books.

The councillors will make the decisions in February on how we can balance the Budget, but we would like YOUR views and YOUR Budget priorities to inform the decisions they will make. To share your views, fill in the survey below.
