Town Centre Strategies and Green Infrastructure/ Network Guidance Consultation

This consultation is now closed as of 26 February 2018

Background

The Council is inviting comments on planning guidance documents to support the adopted Local Development Plan:

  • Town Centre Strategies for Bearsden, Bishopbriggs and Milngavie - providing a long-term vision for each centre, and setting out a series of proposed actions for future improvements
  • Green Infrastructure and Green Network Guidance - identifying the green network and its benefits to the quality of life of residents, workers and visitors. It also sets out what the functions of the green network and green infrastructure are and how development should protect and enhance it

These draft documents were approved at the Place, Neighbourhood and Corporate Assets Committee on 2 November 2017.  Any comments received will be taken into account in finalising each document before it is adopted.

The Green Infrastructure and Green Network Supplementary Guidance has links to the East Dunbartonshire Green Network Strategy approved last year.  The consultation also provides an opportunity for the public to share initial views on landscape-scale green network projects in or around the Campsie Fells, Forth and Clyde Canal, Glazert Water, Mugdock Country Park and River Kelvin. Further information on these areas is available in Section 5 of the Green Network Strategy Story Map.
