Details:
- On Sunday 28 April, the Council will once again be marking International Workers’ Memorial Day. We recognise this day every year to remember those who have lost their lives at work, or from work related injury or illness, and events and activities take place right across the world.
- As part of the Council’s commemorations, the flags at our Southbank Marina HQ will fly at half-mast on the day.
- Each year the Council holds a commemorative event at the Cadder Pit memorial Cairn at Bishopbriggs Library and Community Hub. Council Leader Gordan Low will represent the Council and he, Trades Union colleagues, and our Community Planning Partners will join together to lay wreaths at the Cairn at 1pm. Our local MP and MSP will also be invited to attend.
- All councillors are invited to attend to the event, and any councillors or political parties that wish to lay a wreath should confirm this to members.services@eastdunbarton.gov.uk so that an order for wreath laying can be coordinated.
