Details:
- The purpose of this Technical Note is to inform Members of the implementation of a revised school lunch menu effective from Monday, 29th April 2024. Menu changes allow opportunities to incorporate fresh; locally sourced; and seasonal produce and provides a variety of food choices.
- The current school lunch menu has been in place since August 2023 and runs over a three-week cycle.
- The revised menu will continue to operate over a three-week cycle and meal options include a gluten free option and carbohydrate content, to assist pupils and parents who may require specific dietary information.
- The revised menu will also highlight selected days when “meat free” dishes and locally sourced produce are available.
- The revised menu will include an expansion of special dietary menus with the inclusion of Halal, Dairy Free and PKU menus to support those pupils requiring these options.
- A nutritional analysis has been carried out and the revised menu meets all nutritional standards and complies with the criteria associated with the Soil Association, Food for Life Served Here, Bronze Award.
