Details:
- The purpose of this technical note is to advise Members of the temporary closure of Lenzie library, to allow for essential maintenance and repairs to be carried out.
- The property at 13/15 Alexandra Avenue, Lenzie, which forms Lenzie library, is leased to the Trust. As a condition of the lease East Dunbartonshire Council is required to maintain the property. A recent inspection has identified a number of items for repair, including external and internal works.
- Due to the small size and nature of the building it will be essential for the library to remain closed to the public during the internal decoration works, which are scheduled to take place from between Monday 15th April and Saturday 19th April.
- To allow staff time to clear library stock and furniture in advance of the works, the library will close to the public at 5pm on Thursday 11th April 2024 and will re-open to the public at 1pm on Monday 22nd April 2024.
- East Dunbartonshire Council Officers and East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture Trust Officers will work together to ensure a comprehensive communications plan is in place to keep public and partners informed.
