Details:
  1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to provide Elected Members with an update on the progress of the Canniesburn Toll Improvement Project (‘the project’). This update follows the last update provided on 21st February 2024.
  2. As detailed in the Technical Note of 21st February 2024, work on the previous phase experienced delays and as a result, the traffic management arrangements were extended from 27th February until 11th March. The closures associated with this phase of works and traffic management, covered a full closure of Switchback Road (Southbound). This phase of the works is now complete, the section of Switchback previously closed has re-opened and associated traffic diversions are now lifted.
  3. The next phase of the works includes the closure of the road within the roundabout, between Switchback Northbound and Southbound. It should be noted that Switchback Road will remain open with lane closures. A diversion via Roman Drive will be in place for access to Drymen Road/Switchback (Southbound) from Maryhill Road. This is expected to come into force from 06:00 hours on Monday, 18 March 2024 until 18:00 hours on Monday, 22 April 2024.
  4. These diversions are not expected to have the same impact on neighbouring residential areas, including the Garscube Estate.

Next steps
