Details:
- The purpose of this Technical Note is to provide an update on planned remediation works around Nithsdale Crescent, Bearsden.
- Following completion of the External Wall Insulation programme around the area in February 2024, the site will no longer required to be used as a compound area for our third party contractor. On removal of their compound, the site will be remediated by colleagues in our Greenspace service via initial stone pick, site levelling and strimming.
- In April 2024, the remediated area will then be grass seeded and added to the regular maintenance schedule. As part of these works, the damaged cherry tree on site will also be removed.
- In the medium-longer term, the site remains within the Council’s Affordable Housing Investment Programme. Officers continue to progress discussions with the final two remaining owners of properties within the last block of flats with a view to obtaining full ownership of the block and progressing demolition ahead of future construction works.
