Details: 
  1. The purpose of this note is to advise Elected Members of the planned East Dunbartonshire Funder Fair on Saturday 18 November 2023, from 10am until 2pm at Kirkintilloch Campus, New College Lanarkshire.

  2. The CLD (Community Learning and Development) Strategic Partnership are overseeing the ‘Empowering Communities – Building Stronger’ programme of capacity building, maximising shared prosperity funding ensuring lasting legacy.

  3. This event aims to connect organisations with a range of funders, and offer workshops designed to enhance the capacity of funder-ready community and third sector organisations.

  4. The Funder Fair will host a diverse group of local and regional funders, including ED Community Grant Scheme, ED Winter Connections, ED Arts Council, ED Employability, Asda, Corra Foundation, Shared Care Scotland, Sportscotland and Sustrans.

  5. A series of workshops will be delivered to enhance the capacity of funder-ready organisations.  These include Funder Ready – EDC Community Grant Scheme; Applying for Funding; Evaluation and Reporting; Marketing Made Easy; and Social Impact Evaluation.

  6. The marketing style layout will support networking opportunities, increase visibility of local projects and organisations, whilst enabling exploration of funding opportunities and learning about the process directly from funders.

  7. The event is being promoted through the CLD Partnership social media platforms, including an EDC press release.

  8. Information will be shared across a range of networks, including the signposting of organisations who were not successful in the recent Community Grant Scheme Round 1.
  9. The workshops will be capped due to available space, and organisations will be supported to book a space using Eventbrite.  Eventbrite is being hosted by our partners EDVA.

  10. It is believed that the Funder Fair and ‘Empowering Communities- Building Stronger’ capacity building programme will be instrumental in strengthening organisations’ capacity to secure funding and support thriving communities.
