Elected Member “In Person” Surgeries
Responsible Officer:

Publication:
This Technical Note will be published on the Council’s website following circulation to Member. Its contents may be disclosed or shared outwith the Council.
Details:
  1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to update Members in relation to the reintroduction of face to face or in person surgeries.

  2.  Members will recall that face to face surgeries were stood down in response to the widespread closure of Council buildings following the initial COVID-19 lockdown.  Members will also be aware of the approach taken in relation to re-introducing services and reopening facilities.

  3. The approach taken to reintroducing services is based on strategic phasing, underpinned by robust risk assessments to ensure the health and wellbeing of customers and employees.  It has also sought to avoid a situation where services and/or facilities are being switched on and off as infection rates and restrictions fluctuate.  This has largely been successful and has provided a degree of certainty for residents of East Dunbartonshire.

  4. Given the current relaxation of restrictions and the First Minister’s announcement yesterday, it is now possible for Members to resume face to face surgeries.  Lets are available for booking in the normal way and assistance can be provided by the Members Support Team.

  5. Notwithstanding the above, Members should note that the Council’s schools are not currently available for indoor lets.  However, in light of the ongoing relaxation of restrictions, this is now being revisited and Members will be updated in due course.
