Details:
- The purpose of this Technical Note is to advise Members of the arrangements for suspension of parking charges across East Dunbartonshire over the festive period.
- In line with the approved Parking Management Plan (2022), Council can “Suspend parking charges for events and activities that are considered to have vital importance and worth to the local economy” (Policy 10).
- As has been the practice in previous years, a decision has been taken to suspend parking charges in the nine charging car parks on the Saturdays of December in the run up to Christmas to support local shops, hospitality venues and service providers. Parking charges will be suspended in Bearsden, Bishopbriggs, Kirkintilloch and Milngavie on Saturdays 3, 10, 17 and 24 December 2022.
- Corporate Communications will ensure there is promotion of the Christmas season parking arrangements locally and on social media. The Community Safety Team will have the meters covered over and appropriate signage displayed informing drivers using the car parks.
