Details:

1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to update Members on parking monitoring which has been undertaken in Lenzie following the introduction of an associated Traffic Regulation Order (TRO).

2. In 2019, the Council made “The East Dunbartonshire Council (Lenzie) (Waiting Restrictions) Order 2019, which came into operation on 6 January 2020. It was agreed that a period of monitoring would take place approximately 6 months after the TRO went live to assess the impact of the order. This was delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but officers within the Traffic & Transport team have now completed this monitoring.

3. Observational surveys and car counts were undertaken pre-implementation of the TRO, and more recently in the autumn of 2021. The results of the monitoring found that there was a significant reduction in on-street parking on affected streets and no increase in surrounding on-street parking.
