Details: 
  1. The purpose of this Technical Note is to advise Members of the Mugdock Joint Management Committee of the proposal to install a public access defibrillator at the Courtyard complex, Mugdock Country Park.
  2. Due to several incidents within the Park grounds and in surrounding areas requiring emergency services and a recent confirmed cardiac arrest, Park staff have been investigating the installation of a public access defibrillator at Mugdock.
  3. The Management Team have taken appropriate advice from the Council Health & Safety team in advance of progressing the proposal.
  4. No specific user training is required for staff or members of the public, but an information session will be provided to staff once the equipment is installed.
  5. The equipment would be available for public use and staff would not be solely responsible for operating the equipment. 
  6. Instructions for use are clearly provided with step by step guidance for anyone who finds themselves in an emergency situation.
  7. Park Management have been contacted by interested Park users who have offered to fundraise for a defibrillator which costs around £1,500.  Once purchased the Park would then take on the maintenance and any ongoing costs.
