Woodhill and Auchinairn Primary Schools

In May 2013, following detailed consultation, the council decided to close Auchinairn Primary School and nursery class, Woodhill Primary School and Cleddens Learning and Childcare Centre, and establish a new school to be built on the Woodhill Primary site.

Following statutory consultation, Scottish Ministers gave their consent to the proposal with a number of conditions.

The new £12.4million school will be built for approximately 560 pupils and 145 nursery children and will open in 2017.

The design of the school will be based on the reference design developed for the new Lairdsland Primary School.

Architects will work closely with pupils, staff and the local community to adapt this design for the needs of people in Auchinairn.

You can view the time-lapse video of the building work taking place on the Woodhill Primary site below.

Architects have been working on the final stage of the initial design process and this has been presented to pupils, parents and staff. You can view the images by clicking the documents links.
