Retail Capacity Assessments (RCA) are carried out to establish the capacity for additional retail development within identified catchment areas. They provide valuable evidence as part of the Local Development Plan preparation process and in assessing retail planning applications.
The most recent RCA was published in May 2019, as part of the process of preparing the East Dunbartonshire Local Development Plan 2. It was carried out by an independent consultant and also includes health checks for each of East Dunbartonshire's four town centres.
