Provost Gillian Renwick welcomed the new Bishopbriggs Community Council Youth Ambassadors to East Dunbartonshire Council Chambers recently, to give the young people a greater insight into how local democracy works in the area.
The Ambassadors, pupils from Thomas Muir Primary School, were inaugurated at Bishopbriggs Community Day earlier this year and they have an important job to do in representing the young people in their local community. Provost Renwick enjoyed meeting the enthusiastic young people and gave them a tour of the chambers and showed them some of the Council regalia.
This is the second year of the Bishopbriggs Community Council Youth Ambassador programme, with the first ever roles being held by pupils of Meadowburn Primary.
