Provost Annual Christmas Appeal

The Cost of Living Crisis is having a huge impact on local communities and Provost Renwick wanted her first appeal to directly support local people who are struggling.

Bags packed with tins, microwaveable pouches and even some sweet treats were collected after bins were placed from 5 to 20 December in key Council locations across the area.

Provost Renwick said: “The foodbank in East Dunbartonshire is doing an amazing job of providing emergency food to those most in need, but demand is higher than ever before which is why I wanted to use my first appeal to support them through this challenging time.

“I’m absolutely thrilled at the response and kindness shown by Council and EDLC employees. This donation will go a long way in helping families and individuals over the coming weeks and months - many people will be able to enjoy a hot meal thanks to the generosity shown.”

The foodbank accepts donations all year round with more information available if you visit East Dunbartonshire Foodbank.
