Provost Renwick (left) and Depute Provost McDiarmid (right)Provost Gillian Renwick and Depute Provost Colette McDiarmid are soon to walk over hot coals for Epilepsy Scotland. The daring duo, who have previously taken part in a Shine Night Walk and a pentathlon to raise money for charity, are now bracing themselves for Epilepsy Scotland’s Firewalk.

Epilepsy Scotland works with people living with epilepsy to ensure their voice is heard. Around 58,000 people in Scotland live with epilepsy and the charity supports people with this common serious neurological condition, their families, carers and employers. To fundraise, the charity has organised a Firewalk which will take place on Saturday 23 March at Epilepsy Scotland’s HQ in Glasgow.

Provost Gillian Renwick said, “People living with epilepsy have the right to access high quality medical, social and educational support and Epilepsy Scotland provides a voice for the many people living with epilepsy in Scotland. The charity also equips people living with epilepsy with wellbeing and financial advice, access to support groups and delivers training to employers and carers to ensure the needs of those living with epilepsy are catered for.

“We know money is tight for everyone at the moment, but even a small donation will go some way to enabling Epilepsy Scotland help those who need their support in our communities. The Depute Provost and I are hoping that by walking on hot coals, we’ll encourage you to give what you can!”

Anyone wishing to support the Provost and the Depute Provost by donating to Epilepsy Scotland.
