The Provost launched the annual appeal at the end of November, inviting Council employees to support local families throughout the festive season. Collection boxes, which were situated in Council buildings have now been gathered and the donations have been delivered to the foodbank.

Provost Renwick, said, “I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who donated items for the local foodbank as part of my annual Christmas appeal.

“Over 30 bags packed with tins, coffee, jams and Christmas treats were collected, as well as selection boxes and wrapped gifts – this really does highlight the wonderful kindness and generosity Council employees continue to show to our local communities.

“The foodbank in East Dunbartonshire is doing a wonderful job of providing emergency food to those most in need and this donation will go a long way in helping families and individuals over the coming weeks and months. Many people in our area will be able to enjoy a hot meal over the festive season thanks to your donations.”
