Details:
- This technical note is provided in response to a question posed at the meeting of the Policy and Resources Committee on Tuesday, 31 January 2023 on Item 6 General Fund Revenue Monitoring as at Period 8 of the 2022/23 Financial Year.
- The specific question was in reference to Page 37, Item 6, Income, pertaining to grant funding received from SEPA.
- The grant funding was initially received in 2021 from the Water Environment Fund (WEF), a Scottish Government fund managed by SEPA that aims to fund repairs and improvements to urban rivers and enhance the local environment.
- The funding is part of the Kelvin Tributaries River Restoration Project funding package, which is being coordinated by the Greenspace and Flood Teams within Roads & Environment.
- The project is a multi-year project and is currently at the planning/design stage with the officers in dialogue with SEPA who have advised that the funding can be carried forward into 2023/24.
- The previous and current funding received is specifically for the concept and design stages up to and including Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) stages 1, 2 & 3.
